Abstract: Fitment assembly (10) for one or a plurality of food or beverage containers (20), each container comprising at least one ingredient for the preparation of a food or beverage product, the fitment assembly (10) comprising at least one fluid inlet (12) communicating with at least one injection hole (14) through which a fluid can be supplied into the food or beverage containers, and at least one dispensing outlet (13) through which the food or beverage product is dispensed. The fitment assembly (10) comprises two parts relatively moveable with respect to each other such that this relative movement opens or closes the communication of the inner volume of the containers with the fitment assembly (10) and/or further opens or closes the communication of the dispensing outlet (13) with the exterior of the fitment assembly. The invention further relates to a pack (40) comprising a fitment assembly (10) as the one described and at least one food or beverage container (20) to which the fitment assembly (10) is attached, and to a machine (50) for preparing a food or beverage product from such a pack (40), the machine comprising means (30) designed for engaging with the fitment assembly (10) and for injecting a fluid through the at least one fluid inlet (12).

Abstract: A device (1) handles a capsule (2a, 2b) having a flange (2a′, 2b′). The device comprises: a first part (10) and a second part (20) that are relatively movable across a space (3a, 3b) from a transfer position for inserting and/or removing such capsule (2a, 2b) to an extraction position for extracting such capsule; a third part (30) for guiding such capsule (2a, 2b) to in between the first and second parts (10,20) when in the transfer position; and stop means (32a,32b). The stop means are configured for successively: stopping the capsule (2a, 2b) in between the first and second parts (10, 20) in the transfer position; maintaining the capsule while the first and second parts (10, 20) are relatively moved from the transfer position towards the extraction position to receive the capsule; and allowing a liberation of the capsule from the stop means after reception of the capsule by at least one of the first and second parts (10,20) while relatively moving towards the extraction position. The third part (30) has a flange section (300) that has a first position for engaging with and guiding the capsule flange (2a′, 2b′) when the first and second parts (10, 20) are in the transfer position before liberation of such capsule (2a, 2b) from the stop means (32a, 32b). The flange section (300) in the first position extends into such space (3a, 3b), the flange section (300) being moved after the capsule liberation from its first position to a second position in which the flange section (300) is retracted from the space (3a, 3b) to allow a crossing thereof by the at least one of the first and second parts (10, 20).

Such extraction unit (10) further comprises a mechanical sensor (14) that senses the height (ha;hb) of a cartridge (1a; 1b) and that controls the lock (112′, 132, 132′, 142′) to lock or unlock the first and second portions (11,12,13) when the sensor is actuated by a cartridge of first height (ha) or of second height (hb).

Abstract: A device (1) handles selectively a first capsule (2a) having a first flange (2a′) and a second capsule (2b) having a second flange (2b′) greater than the first flange (2a′). The device comprises: a first part (10) and a second part (20) that are relatively movable from a transfer position for inserting and/or removing such capsule (2a, 2b) to an extraction position for extracting such capsule (2a, 2b); and a third part (30) for guiding such capsule (2a, 2b) to inbetween the first and second parts (10, 20) when in the transfer position. The third part (30) has: a first portion (31a) for engaging with and guiding the first flange (2a′) of the first capsule (2a); and a second portion (31b) for engaging with and guiding the second flange (2b′) of the second capsule (2b). The third part (30) is so configured that: the first portion (31a) is bypassed by the second flange (2b′) when the second capsule (2b) is guided to in-between the first and second parts (10, 20) in the transfer position; and the second portion (31b) is bypassed by the first flange (2a′) when the first capsule (2a) is guided to inbetween the first and second parts (10, 20) in the transfer position.
