Abstract: The invention relates to electrical circuits. More specifically, the invention relates to the detection whether an input wire is floating, connected to the Line or to the Neutral of an AC electric power supply. The invention uses impedances between a point of the circuit and the Input, the Line and the Neutral, and the status of the input line is determined based on the voltage at said point of the circuit, or a derivative thereof.
