Abstract: A benzofuran compound represented by the general formula (I): (I) (wherein the symbols are as defined in the description) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compound is highly effective in leucotriene inhibition, BLT2 antagonistic inhibition, BLT2 blocking, allergy prevention/treatments, asthma prevention/treatments, and inflammation prevention/treatments and is useful as a preventive/therapeutic agent for allergic diseases, diseases such as asthma and inflammation, and other diseases.
