    Abstract: One container system includes a transparent display, a projector for providing image data on the display, and a floor defining part of a watertight cavity. The display is non-perpendicularly angled from horizontal and has proximal and distal ends. And a closure device is provided for use with a watertight container. The closure device is configured to selectively seal an opening in the watertight container and includes coupling structure (a plug, a flange, and/or threading) for selectively coupling the closure device to the watertight container to seal the opening. The closure device further includes non-transitory computer memory, at least one sensor, and a processor in data communication with the memory and the at least one sensor.

    Abstract: A window system for dissipating impact forces happening upon a window includes first and second window panes spatially separated and surround by a window frame; and tubing positioned between the first and second window panes around a perimeter of the window. A waveform energy having a fundamental frequency is received by one of the first and second window panes and is partially transferred to the tubing. The tubing attenuates the impact of the energy on the window.

    Abstract: Flexible sensor systems and sensor mounting devices and methods are disclosed. A sensor-mounting device includes an elongate tubular body made of foam so as to be flexibly manipulatable. The body has a bore extending between front and rear ends in a longitudinal direction. A sensor is located within the bore of the tubular body. Situated within the bore of the body is an inner tube having a central bore. The sensor is protected by and located within the central bore of the inner tube. The inner tube is more rigid than the body and allows the sensor system to be poseable and fixable into many non-permanent positions.

    Abstract: A mobile printer for use with a piece of paper includes a computer memory, a processor in data communication with the computer memory, an input device in data communication with the processor, a housing configured to rest atop the paper, a carriage located inside the housing, carriage actuators for moving the carriage adjacent the paper, a scanning device coupled to the housing and positioned to obtain existing-indicia information, and a printing unit coupled to and movable with the carriage. The scanning device and the carriage actuators are in data communication with the processor. The printing unit includes an output nozzle and a supply passage for supplying ink from a reservoir to the output nozzle. Programming causes the scanning device to obtain the existing-indicia information, the computer memory to store the obtained existing-indicia information, the carriage actuators to selectively move the carriage, and the ink to pass from the output nozzle.

A smart oven for altering a consumable has a thermally insulated chamber having five walls defining a cavity, and a door hingedly connected to one of the five walls. Electronics are housed within the chamber and include a controller in communication with memory. At least one of the walls of the smart oven is constructed of an intelligent glass panel configured to receive an input and provide a controlled output in response.

    Abstract: A method of converting a sign to a changing display includes first identifying an area of the sign to convert. A particle sheet is at the area of the sign, and a communication sheet is placed over the particle sheet. The particle sheet has a first layer comprising a plurality of three-dimensional SPEC particles; a second layer comprising a positively charged conductive sheet; a third layer comprising a negatively charged conductive sheet; a laminate layer; and a control element comprising a processor for activating the SPEC particles to switch from a first colored state to a second colored state. The second and third layers are positioned on either side of the first layer, and the laminate layer encompasses the first, second, and third layers. The particle sheet is activated to cause the SPEC particles to selectively flash between the first colored state and the second colored state.
