    Abstract: A joint body formed of a ceramic member composed of a main body (4) and a disclike projection (5), and a ceramic cylindrical body. The disclike projection is inserted inside the cylindrical body, and a relative density of the disclike projection is higher than that of the cylindrical body. The cylindrical body is composed of a straight portion (2d) not contacted by the projection and having a uniform inside diameter, a diameter-expanded portion (2a) in contact with the projection and having the largest inner diameter, and a tapered connecting portion bridging the straight portion and diameter-expanded portion. A difference between the inner diameter of the straight portion and that of the diameter-expanded portion is 0.05 mm to 0.6 mm.

    Abstract: A ceramic material is a calcined article obtained by calcining a molded ceramic article and in which the pores of the calcined article are impregnated with a substance which can be removed at a temperature lower than a sintering temperature for the molded ceramic article. A method for manufacturing a ceramic product includes the steps of calcining a molded ceramic article, impregnating the open pores of the calcined ceramic article with a substance which can be removed at a temperature lower than a sintering temperature for the calcined ceramic article, mechanically machining the ceramic article to impart a desired shape thereto, removing the substance from the ceramic article, and then sintering the ceramic article. Large-sized ceramic products having a high strength and an excellent shape accuracy and having complex shapes can be manufactured at low costs. The change of the product shape can be accomplished only by changing a program for operation, and for the ceramic products having various shapes, a prompt design changing is possible.

    Abstract: A ceramic injection molded body which is heated to remove organic binder and then hydrostatically pressed after injection molding. The molded body has a volume of fine pores having a diameter of at least 0.1 mu m being at least 30% of the total volume of fine pores in the molded body after removed of organic binders, and the volume of fine pores having a diameter of at most 0.1 mu m being at least 50% of the total volume of fine pores in the molded body after hydrostatic pressing.
