    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the lack of video or the decrease in responding speed by obtaining the mean luminance from the video collected while retreating a sonde, comparing it with a previously obtained threshold value, and judging the imaged picture from the imaged data at every predetermined interval and a plurality of front and rear frame screen data in response to the difference from the threshold value. SOLUTION: The video recorded at the time of retreating a sonde is rewound, and cokes and droplets are individually registered from the initial image process starting picture according to color registering sequence of a color extractor 4 to the color extraction numbers 1 and 2 of the extractor 4. It is automatically sent to the frame of an object under the VTR control by a CPU 6. When the sonde is inserted to the designated position, a truck is started to be retreated. The video during sonde retreating arrives at a CCD camera 1, and is outputted as video. The coke and droplet are extracted by the color previously registered by the extractor 4. At the time of extracting the coke, the number 1 is given, and at the time of extracting the droplet, the number 2 is given, and white and black binary image is output from the extractor 4. The particle size and number of the extracted cokes, droplets are measured.
