Abstract: There is disclosed a vial having a cap ordinarily closed by a one-way valve and capable of being engaged by the barrel of a hypodermic syringe to enable the syringe to be charged with fluid from the vial when inverted. Preferably the one-way valve is a spring-pressed ball. Preferably the cap is externally screw threaded to mate with a screw threaded syringe. The arrangement minimises contamination for multi-dose vials without the possibility of the syringe being contaminated with latex.
