Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring barrel module assuring an easy and smooth operation for the user to close by hand and capable of protecting a mechanism when a device is being opened or closed with a force. SOLUTION: The spring barrel module comprises two chambers, in which a spring is installed in a first chamber while a damper is installed in a second chamber. A one-way damper works with a clutching means which connects a damper plate with a spring shaft when the fastened spring is released so that the rotation of the damper is reduced. Correspondingly the clutch loosens the connection between the damper plate and the spring shaft when the spring is fastened. The mechanical components of the spring barrel are prevented from destruction by an overload clutch.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extendable electromechanical structure provided with a main body portion (300) and a sleeve-like grip portion (301). SOLUTION: The smooth movement of a two-portion device in the longitudinal direction between a drawn-back position and an extended position is performed by means of the clock spring of a spring barrel (302). A belt is wound around the barrel (302) and a sliding portion (306) is attached to the free end of the belt. When the device is drawn back, the sliding portion (306) carrying the belt slides along a longitudinal groove (304) formed on at least one side of the main body portion (300) and is interlocked. When a releasing element is pressed, the sliding section (306) is released from the interlocked state and the belt is wound around the barrel (302) and smoothly slides to the extended position of the main body portion (300).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable electromechanical structure having a main body portion (300) and a sleeve-shaped grip portion (301). SOLUTION: A smooth movement in a longitudinal direction between a retracted position and an extended position is made by means of a clock spring of a spring barrel (302). A belt is wound on the barrel, and a slide portion (306) is mounted on a free end of the belt. When a device is retracted, the slide portion having the belt is slid along a groove (304) in the longitudinal direction being formed at least one side of the main body portion, and interlocked. In response to the depression of a release element, the interlock is released, and the belt is wound on the barrel, and also, the main body portion is smoothly slid to the extended position. The invention relates to a mobile communications device comprising a housing, a transceiver in the housing, a keypad connected to the housing, and a display connected to the housing, wherein the housing comprises a first section movably connected to a second section of the housing by a multi-axis hinge, wherein a first axis of rotation of the hinge is provided at the first section of the housing and a second offset axis of rotation of the hinge is provided at the second section of the housing, and wherein the hinge comprises means for synchronizing rotation of the first and second sections relative to the hinge through a path of about 360 degrees. The invention further relates to a hinge for use therein.

The invention concerns a spring barrel module having two chambers. A spring is located in the first chamber and a damper in the second chamber. The unidirectional damper is implemented by a clutch means that connects the damper plate to the spring shaft when the tightened spring is released, whereby the rotation of the damper slows down. Correspondingly, the clutch loosens the connection between the damper plate and the spring shaft when the spring is tightened. In low temperatures (e.g. below 0 {C degrees) the damper fails to dampen the rotation. The unidirectional feature of the damper improves both usability and durability. Breakage of the mechanical components of the spring barrel is prevented by an overload clutch, which means that the spring barrel module will tolerate even relatively rough handling of the equipment.

The invention relates to an electromechanical structure of an extendable electrical device comprising a body part (300) and a sleeve-like grip part (301). The smooth longitudinal movement between a retracted and extended position is effected by a clockspring in a spring barrel (302). A belt is wrapped around the barrel, and a slide part (306) is attached to the free end of the belt. When the device is retracted, the slide part with the belt slides along a longitudinal groove (304) made on at least one side of the body part until the slide part is interlocked. In response to pushing a releasing element, the interlocking is released, whereupon the belt is wrapped around the barrel and the body part slides smoothly to extended position.
