Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage media items in a data processing terminals. SOLUTION: The present technology is directed to a method, a device and a computer program product for arranging, viewing and querying media items organized in hierarchical multidimensional clusters in mobile terminals. Media items are arranged by clustering with multiple dimensions, wherein they are queried by defining the first entry for one dimension, wherein the next entry is based on the other dimension obtained from the media items fulfilling the first entry. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easy and improve a remote access to a local network. SOLUTION: The mobile device of the local network edits and provides a setting point for the remote access in order to enable the remote access to the local network through a remote access device of the local network. The remote access device receives the setting point from the mobile device, and enables the remote access to the local network through this remote access device, using these setting points. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for facilitating user selection of communication recipients via communication devices. SOLUTION: Communication attributes of previous communication events involving a communication device are monitored. Selection criteria are established (step 1202) based on the monitored communication attributes. One or more adaptive recipient history lists are maintained (step 1204), which correspond to contacts that are affiliated with the communication events satisfying the selection criteria. At least one of the adaptive recipient history lists are presented (step 1206) to the user via the communication device, thereby allowing the user to select the intended recipient via more relevant, focused short lists of likely recipients. Abstract:
A system and method manages user privacy in a network environment (100) through a distributed user system including a user device (110) adn profile operator (115). The management of user privacy involves recognizing one or more service opportunities of a service operator (130, 140) on a user device (110) operated by a user, determining a privacy level at which communications is conducted with a service operator (130, 140) relating to the one or more service opportunities on the user device (110), determining a profile access level on the user device (110), transmitting the profile access level to the service operator (130, 140), and enabling the service operator (130, 140) to obtain a subset of profile information of the user according to the profile access level.
Abstract:
In order to allow a first presentation application to utilize tracked information collected by a second presentation application, the tracked information being how digital content is presented in user equipment, the information is collected by user equipment into a presentation application independent ratings data file.
Abstract:
A distributed recommendation system and method are disclosed that provides greater privacy for the user's private data. The method distributes the tasks of a recommendation system between wireless devices (100) and network servers (140), so as to protect the privacy of end users. The user's wireless device (100) sends (326) a current context-activity pair (515) to a network server (140) in response to either the user's selection (324) of an activity or automatically (322). The user's wireless device (100) includes a service history log (110). The activities stored in the service history log (110) include past recommendations (1) made by the network server (140), past services used (2), prestored service preferences (3), and special requested service requirements (4). Context-activity pair information (515) sent to the server (140) can include any combination of these activities. The server (140) then responds with an appropriate recommendation (515').
Abstract:
A system and method is disclosed to provide recommendations to a wireless device, based on stored bookmark/short-cut data. When a wireless device accesses services, data pertaining to the service access, along with any context related information is transmitted within the wireless device, or to a remote server. The data is processed in conjunction with bookmarks/short-cuts specified within the device, and are organized and presented to the wireless device in accordance with preference instructions specified within the wireless device.
Abstract:
A method for representing content organized as content items in a hierarchical node structure on a graphical user interface comprises selecting at least one content item representative of the content items in a node based upon at least one criteria associated with the content, where the at least one criteria includes favoriteness information based on automatic recognition of favorite contents and selecting at least one representation of the representative content item, the at least one representation being selected from the group consisting of image representation, video representation, textual representation, audio representation, and combinations thereof, wherein the representation provides information regarding the content items in the node.
