Abstract:
A method comprising generating, for primary content to be broadcasted for output on a primary content output device, rendering adaptation information configured for use in adapting the rendering of the primary content on a secondary content output device thereby providing an output of secondary content which is derived from the broadcasted primary content; wherein the primary content comprises at least a first media portion having a first temporal output characteristic; wherein the rendering adaptation information comprises temporal information configured for use in adjusting the rendering of the at least first media portion so as to enable generation of secondary content comprising at least a second media portion having a second temporal output characteristic that can differ from the first temporal output characteristic of the at least first media portion. Also disclosed is a method comprising receiving the above primary content and rendering adaption information in order to generate secondary content. Further disclosed is a method for generating secondary content, as above, wherein the rendering adaption information instead comprises two or more sets of spatial co-ordinates for identifying two or more media portions of the primary content for output as secondary content. Finally disclosed is a method for generating secondary content, as above, wherein the primary content has a dimension n and the rendering adaption information is configured to adjust the dimension n of the primary content to enable a dimension k of the secondary content, where k
Abstract:
A method, system, device, and computer code product is disclosed in which a sender (10) transmits data to a plurality of receivers (20) via a point-to-multipoint session. The receiver sends data repair requests to the sender (10) requesting data expected but not received and the sender (10) retransmits the expected but not received data via the point-to-multipoint session. The sender (10) can also schedule point-to-point data repair sessions with individual receivers if the retransmission via the point-to-multipoint session does not correct all errors. The sender (10) can be configured to delay point-to-point repair sessions using a randomization mechanism based on the number of receivers using the point-to-multipoint session.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A technique for audio processing comprises obtainÂing one or more sets of features descriptive of characterisÂtics of a segment of audio signal representing a piece of music and deriving a club score that is indicative of at least beat strength associated with the segment of audio signal on the basis of said features. The sets of features comprise at least the following: beat tracking (BT) features descriptive of periodicity of the audio segment; fluctuation pattern (FP) features descriptive of modulation energies at a set of modulation frequencies across a set of frequency bands in the audio segment; detrended fluctuation (DF) features descriptive of correlations across different time scales in the audio segment; and energy features descriptive of the signal energy within the audio segment. According to another embodiment, the technique comprises obtaining one or more audio attributes characterizing a segment of audio signal representing a piece of music, the audio atÂtributes possibly including the club score, and selecting a switching pattern based at least in part on the auÂdio attributes, wherein a switching pattern indicates temporal locations for introduction of discontinuiÂties in visual content associated with said segment of auÂdio signal in relation to temporal locations of beats or downbeats.
Abstract:
An apparatus 109 comprises at least one periodicity estimator 16 configured to determine estimates of periodicity based on positional data associated with at least two apparatus 19 experiencing the same audio event 103, such as a live music performance or radio broadcast. A joint tempo determiner determines a joint tempo (BPM) estimate 163 based on the estimates of periodicity associated with the at least two apparatus. The apparatus may also determine a periodicity distribution and a dominant periodicity estimate, which may be displayed to an event audience and/or an event creator. The at least two apparatus may be mobile devices, containing accelerometers or other position sensors, which transmit position data relating to the dancing or other rhythmic motion of people in an audience. The joint tempo estimate may be used, along with signals recorded by microphones, to estimate the tempo of the audio produced during the event. Claims to an apparatus for determining and transmitting positional data relating to at least one apparatus experiencing an audio event is also disclosed.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprises a dereverberation module for generating a dereverberated audio signal based on an original audio signal containing reverberation, and an audio-analysis module for generating audio analysis data based on audio analysis of the original audio signal and audio analysis of the dereverberated audio signal.
Abstract:
Embodiments are disclosed for bandwidth-efficient streaming of immersive content. In the context of a method, an example embodiment includes causing generation of immersive content by an immersive content capture device, retrieving, from a memory, buffer information regarding a current view buffer (CVB), one or more pre-fetch buffers (PFBs), and a free viewpoint buffer (FVB), and causing transmission, by a streaming server, of portions of the immersive content to an immersive content viewing system based on the retrieved buffer information regarding the CVB, the one or more PFBs, and the FVB. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
