Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for improved contactless power transfer in implantable devices are provided. In a first aspect, a rechargeable power supply for an intra-corporeal medical device is provided. The apparatus comprises an implantable power receiving device for wirelessly receiving power, and an implantable power storage device. In another aspect, an intra-corporeal medical device comprises a rechargeable power supply, the rechargeable power supply comprising power receiving device for wirelessly receiving power; and a power storage device.
