SOLUTION: After an iron punch 20 is inserted to contact a bottom of a deeply drawn cap shaped shell material 10 and press the cap shaped shell material 10 into a dice hole 31 of a dice 30 keeping the ironing punch 20 inserting, an inner periphery surface 2 of a cap shape is ironing treated by drawing an ironing punch 20. SOLUTION: A shell type bearing is assembled by supplying shell-type outer rings which are manufactured with a press 100, cages and needle rollers which are fed from parts feeders 140, 150 to an assembling machine 130. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a sound level in service of a shell type needle roller bearing. SOLUTION: In the shell type needle roller bearing, a plurality of needle rollers are arranged along the inside diameter surface of a shell type outer ring formed by stamping. By setting to be 0.05-0.3 μm the surface roughness Ra in a peripheral direction of the inside diameter surface of the shell type outer ring, the sound level in service of the bearing can be considerably reduced. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture a plain bearing having an oil groove on its inside-diameter face with high dimensional accuracy. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a plain bearing applies a press working method including a drawing process capable of molding a cylindrical portion of a metal sheet with a comparatively high yield rate and high accuracy, the press working includes a shearing process for shearing and thinning the cylindrical portion between a punch 12 and a die 11 and controlling dimensions such as an inside-diameter, a thickness or the like with high accuracy, a plurality of projections 12a are formed on the outer-diameter face of the cylindrical punch 12 used in the shearing process, the projections 12a are transferred to the inside-diameter face of a cup-shaped molding 4 as a groove, and the oil groove is formed on the an inside-diameter face of the plain bearing in a state of leaving the groove transferred to the inside-diameter face of the cup-shaped molding 4 on the cylindrical body which is cut in round slices, and thus the plain bearing having the oil groove on its inside-diameter face can be inexpensively manufactured with high dimensional accuracy without implementing other processes such as a grinding process and a coining process.
