Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable ball screw capable of easily arranging a circulating part for circulating balls at a low load position.
SOLUTION: This ball screw 20 has connection grooves 27 for ball circulation formed on a ball screw shaft 21 and shielding members 28. The connecting grooves 27 connect screw grooves 24 of the ball screw shaft 21 and circulate balls 23. The shielding members 28 are guiding members for returning balls 23 to the initial screw grooves 24 and end surfaces 28a thereof are guiding surfaces. The ball screw shaft 21 is unrotatable and is movable in an axial direction. Piece members having connecting grooves can be installed on the ball screw shaft 21 instead of the connecting grooves 27 and the shielding members 28.

SOLUTION: This return tube type ball screw is provided with a screw shaft 2 with a spiral thread groove 4 formed on the outer peripheral surface; a nut 3 fitted to the outer periphery of the screw shaft 2 and formed with a spiral thread groove on the inner peripheral surface; a plurality of balls accommodated in a rolling passage formed by both facing thread grooves; a return tube 5 exposed to the outer peripheral surface of the nut 3 and constituting a ball circulating passage which goes over a land part 4a of the thread groove 4 in the screw shaft 2; and a tube presser plate 6 for fixing the return tube 5 to the nut 3. Locking grooves 13 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the nut 3, and the end parts of the tube presser plate 6 are locked into the locking grooves 13.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a return tube type ball screw equipped with a low-cost tube pressing device capable of locking a fixing screw with simple constitution.
SOLUTION: This return tube type ball screw 1 is provided with a screw shaft 2 with a spiral thread groove 4 formed on the outer peripheral surface; a nut 3 fitted to the outer periphery of the screw shaft 2 and formed with a spiral thread groove on the inner peripheral surface; and a plurality of balls accommodated in a rolling passage formed by both facing thread grooves. A plane part 7 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the nut 3, and a return tube 5 is disposed exposed to the plane part 7. The tube pressing device 6 for fixing the return tube 5 comprises a tube presser plate 10 and the fixing screws 11 for fastening both end parts of the tube presser plate 10 to the plane part 7 of the nut 3. The end part of the tube presser plate 10 is allowed to abut on a head 11a of each fixing screw 11 by plastic deformation.

SOLUTION: The electric power steering apparatus comprises a case 4, a rack shaft 1, a ball screw 7 comprising a conversion mechanism to convert the rotational force from a steering wheel into the axial moving force of the rack shaft 1 and a nut 5 externally fitted to a screw shaft forming a part of the rack shaft 1 via a plurality of balls 6, an electric motor 10 to assist the steering force, and a pair of rolling bearings 8 and 9 which are externally fitted to the nut 5 and support the nut 5 in a rotatable and axially non-movable manner with respect to the case 4. The output of the electric motor 10 is transmitted to the nut 5 via a timing belt 12. The pair of rolling bearings 8 and 9 are disposed across the timing belt 12, and the nut 5 is double-supported.

SOLUTION: The wheel steering device is provided with a movable forward and backward rod 3 coupled to a support member 2 to freely steer a wheel 1, and a ball screw 5 to move forward and backward the rod 3 through rotation of a motor 4. A rotation transmission system to transmit rotation to a nut 5b of the ball screw 5 from the motor 4 is provided with a clutch 6 forming a reverse input limiting means. The clutch 6 prevents rotation of the rotor of a motor 1 by an external force exerted on the wheel 1. The clutch 6 employs a means to transmit rotation to an output shaft from an input shaft but cuts off transmission of rotation from the output shaft to the input shaft side.
