Abstract: Solid deodorising material, which reacts with water to release a chlorine-contg. deodorising gas in the air space above a water mass, in which the material is placed, and on which the material floats, consists of (I) a solid source of active chlorine, (II) a solid source for gas development, which reacts with water to release a gas, and (III) a solid polyolefin. Component (I) is pref. an N-chloro compound, or calcium hypochlorite. Component (II) is pref. a mixture of sodium carbonate and an organic acid, pef. citric acid component (III) is pref. polyethylene or polypropylene.
