    Abstract: An endoscope system includes: an image pickup apparatus in which an insertion portion including an objective optical system is detachable, the image pickup apparatus being configured to pick up an optical image of light from an observed object transmitted by the objective optical system of the insertion portion and to output the optical image as an image pickup signal; a focus changing section provided in the image pickup apparatus and including a drive section that can change focus of the image pickup apparatus; a control section configured to generate a control signal for automatically controlling the optical image in a focused state for the drive section of the focus changing section in a state in which the insertion portion is fitted to the image pickup apparatus; and an optical characteristic acquiring section configured to acquire an optical characteristic of the insertion portion used by the control section to generate the control signal.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent image apparatus in which an operator easily performs the distinction of the existence and status of a lesion.
    SOLUTION: The fluorescent image apparatus has: an imaging unit which images a fluorescent image in a specified wave length zone obtained by irradiating a biological tissue with excitation light outgone from a light source unit; an image forming unit which forms a flourescence color image signal corresponding to a different monochrome image; a color index forming means which extracts image signals in two or more wavelength domains established according to the difference in the properties of the biological tissue, respectively assigns predetermined monochrome to two or more sorts of extracted image signals, creates a new color by the color mixture of two or more assigned monochrome in a predetermined ratio, and forms a color index composed of the created color when excitation light of a predetermined wavelength is irradiated to the living tissue; wherein the color index is piled up on a color observation image by the flourescence color image signal to indicate.
