Abstract: Procédé de teinture des fibres kératiniques comprenant l'application sur ces fibres d'une composition contenant, dans un milieu approprié pour la teinture, au moins un dérivé d'indole et au moins une nitro-2 paraphénylènediamine substituée choisie parmi la N-(beta-hydroxyéthyl) amino-1 nitro-2 N', N'-(bis-beta-hydroxyéthyl) amino-4 benzène et le N-(beta-hydroxyéthyl) amino-1 nitro-2 amino-4 benzène, la couleur étant révélée par un système oxydant constitué par : (i) des ions iodure et du peroxyde d'hydrogène, (ii) des nitrites, (iii) des oxydants choisis parmi l'acide périodique et les périodates, l'hypochlorite de sodium, le ferricyanure de potassium, l'oxyde d'argent, le réactif de Fenton, l'oxyde de plomb IV et le sulfate de cesium V, (iv) ou bien un permanganate ou un bichromate.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition for application to human hair or skin contains as a thickening or opacifying agent therefore, the residue of a plant extracted to remove all of at least one of its dye, essential oil, olfactory or therapeutic or cosmetic active principles. The residue is in powder form having a granulometry less than 125 microns and is present in said composition in an amount ranging from 2 to 95 percent by weight based on the total weight of said composition.

Abstract: A two-stage process for dyeing keratin fibres, especially human hair, is described which involves treating the fibres with a first composition at a first pH and subsequently, without rinsing treating the fibres with a second composition at a second pH, at least one of the compositions containing a dyestuff for the fibres, and the second pH being different from the first pH so as to modify the effect of at least one active ingredient on the fibres.

Abstract: Process for the preparation of a composition suitable for use in dyeing human hair, which composition contains a mixture of dyestuff precursors obtained by reacting at least one polyhydroxybenzene of the formula: and one precursor of the formula: which process comprises the following stages: (1) the abovementioned reaction is carried out in an anaerobic medium in a first solvent which is chosen with regard to the course of the reaction and the subsequent lyophilization; (2) the reversible reaction is stopped at the desired stage by freezing; and (3) the final reaction mixture is lyophilized with the removal of the first solvent. At the time of use (4) the lyophilizate obtained in (3) is dissolved in a second solvent which is a cosmetic solvent suitable for hair dyeing and which can be different from the first solvent.
