Abstract:
The invention concerns a cosmetic or dermatological composition, for topical use, in particular for solar protection of the skin and hair. The invention is characterised in that it comprises in a cosmetically acceptable carrier: (a) 0.1 to 20 wt. % of a UV filter derived from dibenzoylmethane; and (b) 0.1 to 20 wt. % of a particular -alkylstyrene dimer. The invention also concerns a novel method for enhancing the stability of at least a dibenzoylmethane derivative towards UV radiation which consists in associating with said dibenzoylmethane derivative an efficient amount of at least a particular -alkylstyrene dimer.
Abstract:
The invention concerns, for the preparation of cosmetic compositions, the use of divalent manganese salts as agents for reducing odour resulting from bacterial decomposition of human perspiration. The invention also concerns a method for reducing human body odours resulting from their bacterial decomposition and in particular axillary odours, foot odours and scalp odours.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition capable of artificially giving coloring similar to a natural suntan state to the skin by a simple, effective and rapid method having no risk. SOLUTION: A cosmetic composition for giving an artificial coloring similar to a natural suntan state to the skin and/or a composition for dermatology is prepared by including at least one kind of mono- or polycarbonyl self-suntan agent and at least one kind of flavylium salt compound with is obtained from a plant extract or a condensed plant extract or by synthesis, has no substituent in the 3-position and is substituted with at least one of hydroxyl or alkoxyl groups in a cosmetically permissible support.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an emulsion for a sunlight-resistant composition having stability with time and water resistance (stability to water). SOLUTION: This water-in-oil type emulsion for a cosmetic or the skin comprises at least one aqueous phase, at least one fat phase, at least one kind of light protection system containing at least one kind of an emulsion-insoluble organic UV screening agent in a pulverized state changeable in a range of 0.01-2 μm average particle diameter, capable of screening UV light rays, at least one kind of unscreening organo modified silicone containing an oxyalkylenated group. The insoluble organic UV screening agent is different from a specific compound.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a deodorant cosmetic composition comprising at least a selected amino acid transforming enzyme inhibitor, the use of said compositions for topical application for humans and the use of a selected amino acid transforming enzyme inhibitor as active deodorant.
Abstract:
Transparent and photostable cosmetic oil with improved tactile properties, for filtering ultraviolet rays. The cosmetic oil contains an ultraviolet filter in the form of at least one organopolysiloxane chosen from those having groupings derived from benzylidene-camphor, benzalmalonate, benzophenone or benzotriazole, associated with a blend of a volatile silicone (A) and a silicone oil having a viscosity greater than 10 m /s or a silicone gum (B). The filtering oil according to the invention protects the skin and hair from ultraviolet rays and can be used as a fatty phase in the preparation of oil-in-water or water-in-oil sun emulsions.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition capable of imparting a color to the skin which resembles the color of natural suntanned skin by a simple, effective and rapid process free from danger. SOLUTION: This composition includes, on a cosmetically permissible carrier, at least one flavylium salt compound having at least one hydroxyl or alkoxy substituting group and no substituent at the 3 position, obtained from an extract of a plant or a concentrated plant extract thereof including the compound or by synthesis, in an effective amount capable of obtaining a dark color tone ΔL* of -0.5 to -20 in an L*a*b* coloriemetric determination method 30 min after applying to the white skin in a rate of 2 mg/cm2.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for improving the light stability and solubility of a dibenzoylmethane derivative in an antisunlight composition and provide a composition produced by using the process. SOLUTION: An active amount of a silane or organosilane compound having benzylidene-camphor functional group is combined with a dibenzoylmethane derivative and included in a cosmetologically permissible substrate to obtain the objective composition. A silane or organosiloxane compound having benzylidene-camphor functional group and usable as a light-stabilizing agent constitutes an especially remarkable solvent to a shielding agent of a dibenzoylmethane derivative type such as 4-(t-butyl)-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane derivative compared with a hydrocarbon-based organic shielding agent derived from benzylidene-camphor and a larger amount of shielding agent can be used based on the same amount of solvent.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition capable of artificially coloring the skin in a state similar to natural suntan by a method which is easy, effective, speedy and free from danger. SOLUTION: A cosmetic or dermatological emulsion containing the following components is manufactured: (a) at least one aqueous phase; (b) at least one fatty phase; (c) at least one kind of specific flavylium salt which is not substituted at 3-position and substituted with at least one hydroxyl or alkoxyl in such an amount as to obtain darkened skin color tone characterized by that, when the emulsion is applied on the not burned skin at a ratio of 2 mg/cm2, ΔL* is in the range of -0.5 to -20 after 30 min in an L*a*b* colorimetric measurement system; and (d) at least one kind of an organic group- modified silicone.
