Abstract:
A composition for treating hair containing a cosmetically effective amount of a polycondensable compound having the formula:
IN WHICH: Y is selected from the group consisting of H, hydrocarbon chains comprising one to 30 carbon atoms, groups consisting of cosmetic constituents which have -S-S, -SH, -COOH, basic quaternary ammonium, and fatty chain groups, X is selected from the group consisting of O, S and NH, R1 and R2 are selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl and together may form a heterocyclic group, comprising nitrogen and/or oxygen atoms, R3 is selected from the group consisting of H, alkyl, and the two R3 groups may form a heterocyclic group, comprising nitrogen and/or oxygen atoms.
Abstract:
A cosmetic composition for treating hair comprising an electrophile methylol amine and a urein compound, one or both of which contain a chemical group which has cosmetic properties; and a method of treating hair with this composition. The compounds having the formula IN WHICH N 1 OR 2, X is O, S or NH and Y is a disulfide, carboxylic acid, tertiary or quaternary amine or -SH group which has cosmetic properties.
Abstract:
Cosmetic composition comprising, in a suitable carrier, at least one active compound including both at least one disulfide function and at least one group responding to the formula:
IN WHICH: R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a lower alkyl, a hydroxy-methyl or an alkoxy methyl radical; R'' is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, and a lower alkyl radical; THE NITROGEN ATOM IN SAID GROUP BEING ATTACHED TO A REMAINDER WHICH IS SUFFICIENTLY ELECTROPHILE TO PREVENT THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF FORMOL.
Abstract:
1,137,355. Dyeing hair. L'OREAL. 9 Dec., 1965 [30 Dec., 1964], No. 52352/65. Heading D1B. Hair is dyed with 'direct dyes as defined including nitro, disperse, acid or basic dyes with dye liquors containing thiourea provided that when the hair is initially coloured it is first bleached with an oxidising agent. The hair may first be shampooed and rinsed. The dye liquors may also contain, in addition to a preferred 1-6% thiourea, tartaric acid or alkali metal salts thereof, e.g. Rochelle salt, the pH may be 7-9.5 due to the presence of e.g. mono- or triethanolamine or ammonia.
Abstract:
Flair treating compositions contain one or more polycondensable compds. of formula (I). X = O, S or NH; R1 and R2 = lower alkyl, or together with the N atom from a heterocyclic group; and R3 = H or alkyl, while two groups R3 can be combined in a heterocyclic group. (I) is pref. monomorpholinomethylured, dimonpholinomethylurea, dimorpholinomethylthiourea, monomorpholinomethylthiourea, monoomorphalinomethylethyleneurea, 1,4-bis (carbamidomethyl)-piperazine, diethylaminomethylurea, monomonpholinomethylethylene diurea, dimorpholinomethylethylenediurea, or piperidinomethylurea. The tamino group of cpd. (I) can be quarternised, e.g. with methyl iodide. The group of formula (I) is pref. fixed to a group with co-reactivity, such as a sulphur-sulphur linkage, a third group, a carboxyl group, a basic or quat. ammonium group, or a fatty chain. Use of the cpds. (I) prevents hair from undergoing deterioration when contacted with sea water, permanent waving or bleaching. Compsn. contng. cmpds. (I) can be used aqueous waving lotions.
