Abstract: Mechanisms for mounting, opening, closing and releasing a door assembly relative to a mounting structure are provided. The mechanisms employ a first structure that defines at least one elongated guide channel and a latching subassembly that is adapted to be mounted with respect to the foregoing guide channel(s) and to rotate with respect thereto. Rotation of the latching assembly with respect to the guide channel(s) allows a latching region, e.g., a V shaped latching region, to move between a first position (wherein the latching region is adapted to receive a mounting structure) and a second position (wherein the latching region cannot receive a mounting structure). In the second position, the latching region (in combination with the guide channel) is structured to capture a mounting structure (e.g., a projection associated with a cable management system) therewithin. Methods for use of the door assembly and latching subassembly are provided, as well as particular utilities thereof, e.g., rack-mounting applications.

Abstract: An angled patch panel is provided that is configured to be mounted to a rack or console. The angled patch panel facilitates cable management functions and enhances space utilization at and around the rack/patch panel assembly. The angled patch panel includes first and second patch panel elements that are angularly oriented with respect to each other. The transition from the first patch panel element to the second patch panel element is generally achieved in an apex region. The angled patch panel also includes flange members that extend from the first and second patch panel elements. Each of the flange members define a mounting face and an extension arm that is intermediate the mounting face and the patch panel element. The extension arm is dimensioned to facilitate at least partial recessing of the angled patch panel relative to the rack/console when the angled patch panel is mounted thereto.

Abstract: A cable management rack is provided within which a heat-generating device is mountable, and encompasses a vertical rectangular frame open in a front and a rear of the frame. The rack includes a first upright and a second upright attached to opposite respective lateral sides of a base and a top member, and respective side-facing panels. Each of the panels defines a plurality of vent holes arranged in an array and permit the rack to receive a sideways flow of cooling air into a first side of the rack through one of the vent arrays for cooling a heat-generating device mounted between the panels, and permit the rack to discharge a sideways flow of exhaust air through the other vent hole array. Each of the array of vent holes may manifest a honeycomb pattern of vent holes, and each of vent holes may manifest an hexagonal shape.

Abstract: An equipment rack is disclosed having two opposing structural support frames connected by a plurality of elongated beams defining an adjustable interior volume having a length, width and depth therein. Each opposing support frame has at least two posts defining two opposing sides. The posts are connected by a plurality of elongated cross beams which include a portion that extends outwardly from at least one of the opposing sides. At least two opposing rails are slidably mounted on the plurality of elongated cross beams to permit movement of the rails along the longitudinal axis of the elongated cross beams. Thus, the interior volume of the adjustable equipment rack may be adjusted, e.g., expanded by sliding the opposing rails of each opposing support frame along the plurality of cross beams and into the portion of the cross beams extending beyond the posts.
