Abstract:
A luminaire having a plurality of power sockets arranged over its housing is disclosed. In some embodiments, the luminaire includes a driver operatively coupled with all (or some sub-set) of the power sockets and configured to control the light output of a modular solid-state light source operatively interfaced therewith. In some such embodiments, the luminaire also includes a power-line communication (PLC) module configured to output a PLC signal utilized by the driver in controlling the modular light source's output. In some other embodiments, the modular light source includes the driver, which may utilize a PLC signal, a command signal received from a remote source, or both, in controlling light output.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure include simplified user interfaces configured to display one or more symbols for image capture by an image capture device. A computing device with image processing software may be used to process the image to detect the symbol and determine a control function associated with the symbol for controlling one or more building system components. Other aspects include software applications for allowing a user to customize a set of symbols and associated control functions.
Abstract:
There is herein described a method for pairing a remote controller with an electronic device and a system for pairing an electronic device with a remote controller. The method includes steps of sending a directional optical signal from the remote controller to the electronic device (202), receiving the directional optical signal from the remote controller (204), detecting the signal strength of the directional optical signal 8206), comparing the signal strength with a predetermined value (210), and pairing the remote controller with the electronic device when the signal strength is larger than the predetermined value (212).
