Abstract: A large, preferably transportable container which can be closed by a refractory sliding door consisting of a plurality of sliding leaves has a problem zone through which heat from a fire outside the container can enter the large container in the upper cover region in which runner rails for guiding rollers connected to the sliding leaves are mounted. The invention optimizes the fire resistance. To this end, a fireproof partition (10) arranged parallel to the sliding leaves (1, 2) is fixed to the cover (8) of the large container (7) across the whole width of the sliding door and projects into the space between the sliding leaves (1, 2). The fireproof partition (10) and the sliding leaves (1, 2) are provided with a layer of insulating elements (14) on the sides facing each other in the region of overlap. As a result, flames are prevented from entering the container directly through this region, and space between the sliding leaves and the fireproof partition (10) is closed by the layer of insulating elements to form an air lock.
