Abstract:
An Internet facsimile apparatus 11A as a sender makes inquiry about capability, which a destination Internet facsimile apparatus 11B possesses, to a local server 13A in a local network 10A. When the local server 13A has no capability information of the destination stored, the sender makes inquiry to a DNS server 16 higher than the local server 13A and obtains capability information of the destination from the DNS server 16. Then, the sender registers the obtained capability information of the destination to a memory, which the local server 13A or the sender has. This realizes that the sender can surely obtain capability information of the destination. Also, this makes it possible to automatically register capability information of the destination to the memory of the local server 13A or the sender.
Abstract:
A RARP processing section 509 of a network scanner 1 obtains a MAC address corresponding to a user name from a MAC address table 510, and broadcasts a RARP request by use of this MAC address. While, a PC 4 sends a pair of a self-IP address and a mail address to a RARP processing section 509 in response to the RARP request. After obtaining an IP address of this PC 4, a scanner 15 scans an original, and generates e-mail to which the image is appended. Next, an SMTP transmitting section 507 directly transmits the generated e-mail to the PC. At this time, the SMTP transmitting section 507 uses the IP address of PC obtained by the RARP processing section 509. In the network to which HDCP is introduced, the network scanner automatically obtains the IP address of PC, and directly transmits image data to the PC.
Abstract:
This Internet facsimile apparatus comprises a panel (18) with a plurality of buttons (502-521), memory (13) to store a default domain name, panel input control section (11) that if a user name is input from said panel, adds said default domain name to said user name to create a mail address and mail transmission processing section (402-407) that transmits e-mail directed to said mail address.

Abstract:
An Internet facsimile apparatus 11A makes inquiry about capability, which a destination possesses, to a local server 13A . The server 13A is connected to the same LAN 10A as that of the Internet facsimile apparatus 11A. When the local server 13A has no capability information of the destination, the Internet facsimile apparatus 11A makes inquiry to a DNS server 14A and obtains capability information. Then, the Internet facsimile apparatus 11A makes an image to be suitable for the capability of the destination and transmits it to the destination via the Internet 1 . As a result, the Internet facsimile apparatus 11A on a transmitter side can surely obtain capability information of a destination terminal 11B, thereby making it possible to carry out the same capability exchange as that of G3 facsimile apparatus.
Abstract:
The failure mail identification section and delivery status notification mail identification section identify whether or not the received E-mail data is failure mail and delivery status notification mail , respectively. Based on the identification result, the specific information extraction section extracts information necessary for output from the E-mail data. The format conversion section converts the extracted data to facsimile data. The data edit section edits the converted data. The edited data is transmitted by the facsimile communication unit to the G3 facsimile via PSTN. This allows failure mail and delivery status notification mail to be distinguished from normal E-mail, saving recording paper.

Abstract:
Means (1) for transmitting/receiving an electronic mail to/from a network is provided. From a received mail, its identification information is generated and a reply mail including the identification information is sent to the sender of the mail. When an attached file of the received mail cannot be opened, a message ID of the received mail is added in the identification information. In such a manner, even when a large capacity memory or a hard disk is not provided, whether the data has been sent normally or erroneously is reported to the sender accurately and easily.
Abstract:
An error mail judging unit and a delivery confirming mail judging unit judge whether the received electronic mail data are on an error mail or on a delivery confirming mail. In accordance with the results of the judgment, a specific information extraction unit extracts information necessary for the output from the electronic mail data. The extracted data are converted into facsimile data by a format conversion unit. The converted data are edited by a data editing unit. The edited data are transmitted to a G3 fax machine by a facsimile communication unit through a public network. Therefore, error mails and delivery confirming mails are discriminated from ordinary electronic mails and, further, recording paper can be saved.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail apparatus that informs a manager node about log information such as a sender address on every relay to the manager node so as to allow the manager node to quickly check the state of an abnormal increase of the relay amount. SOLUTION: The electronic mail apparatus includes: an electronic mail reception means 1 for receiving electronic mail; a facsimile transmission means 6 that converts electronic mail data received by the electronic mail reception means 1 into facsimile data and faxes the facsimile data; and a notice means 1 that informs the manager node, to which the electronic mail apparatus is registered, about log information. The log information is characterized in including sender information and destination telephone number.
