    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a mobile terminal, a base station, an operating method for a mobile terminal and an operating method for a base station. The mobile terminal is for communicating in a mobile communication system with a base station using at least one of a plurality of downlink beams and at least one of a plurality of uplink beams, each of the downlink and uplink beams having different directivities and/or coverage, comprising: which, in operation, receives for a beam failure recovery, BFR, procedure an allocation of dedicated uplink radio resources for transmitting a beam failure recovery signal, a processor which, in operation, detects a downlink beam failure event and, in response thereto, initiates the beam failure recovery procedure, including the transceiver transmitting the beam failure recovery signal using the dedicated uplink radio resources from the allocation; wherein the dedicated uplink radio resources are restricting the transmission to a subset of the plurality of uplink beams that can be exclusively allocated by the base station to the mobile terminal.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user equipment comprising a receiver receiving a minimum-system-information message from a first radio base station. System information for the first radio cell that can be acquired by the UE is carried within the minimum-SI message and one or more additional-SI messages. The minimum-SI message includes system information for accessing the first radio cell and at least one system information index, each of which is associated with one of the additional-SI messages. The SI message index comprises a value tag and an area pointer, the latter pointing to one area already defined. Processing circuitry determines whether the UE had already acquired before the additional-SI message associated with the same value tag and the same area. If the determination is positive, the processing circuitry determines that system information included in said additional-SI message acquired before is applicable to the first radio cell.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a user equipment (UE) that comprises processing circuitry which operates a function that involves monitoring of a downlink control channel of an unlicensed radio cell for information intended to the UE. The unlicensed radio cell operates in an unlicensed spectrum and is controlled by a base station. The processing circuitry and a receiver perform the monitoring of the downlink control channel based on a first timer and a second timer operated in parallel. The first timer is used to limit the maximum time the downlink control channel is to be monitored, by starting the first timer at the beginning of the monitoring and stopping the monitoring upon expiry of the first timer. The second timer is used to stop the monitoring earlier than the first timer depending on the channel occupation status of the unlicensed spectrum by the base station.
