Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a connector to be easily mounted to and removed from a connector receptacle. SOLUTION: A connector mounting receptacle 40 comprises either a mounting base part 41 or a wall plate 65 having a spaced-apart tooth and a resilient latch 106 disposed to engage with mounting slots 46, 48 in a modular connector to releasably mount the connector 43 to the receptacle. The connector comprises corner mounting slots 66 disposed to engage with lateral stoppers formed in the wall plate. A steel wall plate receptacle is integrally formed of conductive metal with the connector latching features being configured to concurrently releasably latch and conductively grounding a shielded connector formed in the receptacle.
