Abstract:
A powered communications patch panel is adapted to power network devices connected to the communications patch panel. Power is supplied to the network devices by the powered communications patch panel over the communication cabling. The powered communications patch panel may be provided with a management port to allow remote management of the patch panel via a network connection. Multiple management ports may be provided, allowing patch panels to be connected to one another in a daisy-chain configuration.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-receiving patch panel (PPP) which inserts electric power in the network intermediate distance region, having fault tolerance in power source level and power plane level. SOLUTION: The PPP stores the information, such as physical position, port status, and policy enforcement information inside. The processor executes network control and monitor by using the information. The patch panel comprises a network management system and/or an element management system which interface with the processor of PPP and attain network monitor, control and target of policy enforcement. Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present invention is a communication connector, comprising a compensation circuit for providing a compensating signal to approximately cancel an offending signal over a range of frequency, the compensation circuit including a capacitive coupling with a first magnitude growing at a first rate over the range of frequency and a mutual inductive coupling with a second magnitude growing at a second rate over the range of frequency, the second rate being greater than the first rate (e.g., the second rate approximately double the first rate).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a communication jack for connecting to one of a first plug and a second plug. The jack includes a housing, plug interface contacts, and coupling circuitry. The plug interface contacts are at least partially within said housing and include a plurality of contact pairs having at least a first contact pair and a second contact pair. The coupling circuitry is configured for engaging said first contact pair and said second contact pair when said first plug is inserted into said housing. The coupling circuitry is configured for disengaging from said first contact pair and said second contact pair when said second plug is inserted into said housing.
Abstract:
A communications cable is provided with a matrix tape that attenuates alien crosstalk when cables run near one another. The matrix tape is provided with conductive segments. The conductive segments are preferably provided on two layers of the matrix tape. In one embodiment, the conductive segments are attached to a film with an adhesive. A barrier tape is preferably provided between the cable core and the matrix tape.
Abstract:
Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a duct for a shielded wireway system. The duct includes a bottom wall, two sidewalls extending from the bottom wall, and a plurality of fingers extending from each of the sidewalls. Adjacent fingers are connected by at least one bridging component. The bottom wall, the sidewalls, and a portion of the fingers, including the bridging component, are shielded.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a barrier tape used as part of a communication cable to improve crosstalk attenuation. The barrier tape is provided with one or more barrier layers of discontinuous conductive segments. Conductive segments of one barrier layer are preferably sized and shaped to overlie gaps between conductive segments of another barrier layer.
Abstract:
Communications connectors are provided with conductive covering layers to reduce the amount of alien near-end crosstalk (ANEXT) between connectors at IDC terminals when they are installed alongside one another.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for managing a local-area communication network and documenting it. SOLUTION: The system has an Ethernet controller and an electric-power forwarding function on the Ethernet as an integrated management component in a cable plant. A power-supplying apparatus and a power-receiving device are deployed by using an active electronic module to enhance management, documentation, security, and emergency 911 aspects of the network, and to extend physical reach of the network. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal which, while reducing a cross-talk and a delay time difference, is more powerful and not attenuating. SOLUTION: A communication cable has an insulated and corrugated conductor 12. The corrugated conductor has ridges 16 and concave parts 17 and in an area of the concave part, there is provided a space between an insulator 14 and an external surface of a wire 10. In an application case, a ridge 20 and a concave part 21 form a cross section of a sine wave contoured outer shape. The insulator can be provided with a corrugated part and the corrugated part of the insulator can be matched with the corrugated part of the conductor. A plurality of wires can be assembled to make one communication cable. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
