Abstract: A strap fastener buckle (20) for fastening opposing ends of an object encircling strap (22) includes first and second bridge portions (28 & 30) partially defining first and second tubular portions (42 & 44) and a deformable retainer (32) extending from the buckle intermediate first and second bridge portions. One end of the strap is initially secured to the buckle. The free end of the strap (22) is then secured to the buckle (20) by passing the free end through first and second tubular portions (42 & 44), folding the free end over second bridge portion (30), severing the free end at a predetermined point short of the second bridge portion (30), and securing the severed end between first and second bridge portions (28 & 30) by deforming the retainer (32) to a position overlying the severed end of the strap.
