Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a device for protecting an adapter from contamination, damage or misuse. The device includes a front member having an opening for receiving a removal tool. The device also includes cover members having a front portion and a back portion. The front member of the device interconnects the front portions of the cover members. The front portion of each cover member includes a sealing member for sealing an opening in the adapter when the cover member is installed within the adapter. The back portion of each cover member includes an arm extending upwardly therefrom for engaging the adapter to secure the device within the adapter.
