Abstract: A process for recovering crumb rubber from used vehicle tires wherein the tires are comminuted in three comminuting operations, the second and third of which are prefaced by contact with a liquid cryogenic. The cryogenic liquid which is gasified upon contact with the tire particles, is reliquefied and recycled.
