    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the interactive, voxel-based segmentation and visualization of a three-dimensional object in a three-dimensional, in particular medical, data record. In this case, the progress of the segmentation is visualized during the segmentation, and a user can intervene during the segmentation process in this process. For this purpose, the segmentation takes place in steps, where each segmentation step supplies a set of object voxels by means of which a two-dimensional intermediate image is generated or updated. After each segmentation step or after a number of segmentation steps, the already segmented part of the object is visualized with the aid of the two-dimensional intermediate image.
