Abstract: Low pressure discharge lamp comprises a gas discharge vessel containing a noble gas filling as buffer gas and an indium halide, thallium halide and/or copper halide, electrodes and devices for producing and maintaining a low pressure gas discharge. The lamp further includes an electron emitter substance made from a compound selected from ABO3, AnC2O5+n or AnD2O3+n (where, A = alkaline earth element(s); B = Ce, Ti, Zr and/or Hf; D = V, Nb and/or Ta; and D = Sc, Y and/or La).
