Abstract: The arrangement has a control unit (1) or master and at least one controlled unit or slave (2) for transferring address, instruction and/or data messages from master to at least one slave and for returning receipt acknowledgments from the slave to the master for each message. The control unit signals error-free message transfer using the acknowledgment signal. The arrangement has at least one slave which suppresses the acknowledgment for at least one message depending only on the selectable parameters of the slave's operating state, even for error-free message transfer. In this case the control unit still signals error-free transfer. The control unit has an evaluation stage in which the absence of an acknowledgment signal for the message is received and processed as an information signal re the selectable parameters of the slave's operating state. Independent claims are also included for a method of transferring address, instruction and data messages and an electronic communications device.
