Abstract:
The discharge lamp (10) comprises a casing (20) made of glass, which surrounds the discharge vessel (16). The glass material of the casing is doped with sodium in a concentration of at least 10 ppm by relation to the weight, and preferably of at least 30 ppm. The glass material of the casing may contain, in addition to sodium, other alkali metals in a maximum concentration of totaling 25 ppm by relation to the weight. The discharge lamp comprises a socket (12) and a burner (14). The burner comprises a discharge vessel, lead wires (18), and a casing. The discharge vessel and the lead wires are formed as a single-piece glass body. Electrical conductors are in the lead wires, which are connected to electrodes (22) in the interior space of the discharge vessel. By the imposition of a voltage at the connections (24), which are connected to the electrodes, a gas discharge can be induced in the interior of the discharge vessel.
Abstract:
Mercury free gas discharge lighting elements that are used particularly in road vehicle headlights have inner and outer tubes. These are structured such that the arc diffusion has a curvature of between 0.01 to 1.5 mm that of those without the structure. Typically the mercury free unit is a mercury free Xenon gas discharge device. The tubes are glass or ceramic.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mercury-free gas discharge lamp suitable in particular for motor vehicles and having an enhanced discharge arc diffuseness, to its use, and to a method of its manufacture. The mercury-free gas discharge lamp according to the invention has an inner vessel and/or outer bulb with a structured arrangement, which structured arrangement is preferably made such that the discharge arc diffuseness of the mercury-free gas discharge lamp with structured arrangement is increased by dD 0.01 mm to 1.5 mm in comparison with the corresponding gas discharge lamp without structured arrangement.
