Abstract:
In an X-ray examination device and a method for generating distortion-free X-ray images the imaging properties are calculated and distortions are corrected by providing at least one calibration member (7, 8) for forming a reference pattern; a correction unit (13) corrects the distortions in X-ray images on the basis of the pattern of the calibration members (7, 8) actually formed in the patient X-ray image (FIG. 4) and the calculated reference pattern.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device and a method for mutual correlation of an ultrasound image (US) and an X-ray image (X) of the same body volume (1). The spatial positions of the X-ray system (2, 6) and the ultrasound system (3) are then determined by a position determining system (4). With the help of the data thus obtained and a corresponding calibration of the systems, the points of the ultrasound image (US) can be transformed into the corresponding points of the X-ray image (X). In this way the ultrasound image can be displayed superimposed on the X-ray image (and vice versa).
