    Abstract: A method of electrophotographically manufacturing a display screen of a colour television display tube. For enhancing the contrast, a light-absorbing layer is provided between the phosphor patterns. In order to prevent pollution of the previously provided phosphor patterns with the phosphor of phosphor patterns which are provided afterwards, the phosphor particles are previously provided with a layer of a hygroscopic material. The hygroscopic material is wetted and hence made conductive between the provision of two phosphor patterns. The hygroscopic material is dried and hence made non-conductive between the provision of the last phosphor pattern and the provision of the light-absorbing layer.

    Abstract: 1533009 Colour television tubes PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 Aug 1976 [1 Sept 1975] 35726/76 Heading H1D In a lighthouse method of producing a colour stripe phosphor screen for a colour television tube in which, for each colour-blue, in Fig. 2-a photosensitive layer is exposed from at least two positions disposed one on each side of the exposure centre of that colour, such that the light beams passing through the adjacent slots overlap while the beams passing through any given slot are spaced apart on the layer to give unexposed regions 13 on which the phosphor is deposited, colour error at the extreme edge stripes-the right-hand edge stripe 8 in Fig. 2- due to lack of exposure of the relevant areais prevented by exposing the surface additionally, Fig. 4, from the direction of the exposure centre of the appropriate one of the other colours-red, in Fig. 4. Correspondingly, to prevent colour error at the extreme left-hand edge stripes in Fig. 2, the photoconductive layer is exposed, when forming the red stripes, additionally from the direction of the exposure centre of the blue stripes (Fig. 5, not shown).
