    Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce a noise and to improve a draining function by forming plugs for generating tangential forces generally combining with one another thereby generating a resultant force having an axial component of substantially zero value at an intersection of oblique grooves and lateral grooves at a specific value of the oblique angle of longitudinal groove of a tread band in a circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION: A tread pattern is formed of a pair of oblique longitudinal grooves 7a inclined to a circumferential direction 2 of a tire by an angle inclined between 2 deg. and 20 deg., and lateral grooves 8 perpendicularly crossing the grooves 7a to form plugs 6. The plugs 6 are formed in a shape for generating tangential forces generally combining with one another thereby generating a resultant force having an axial component of substantially zero value while linearly running at a predetermined speed. Accordingly, a noise can be reduced and a draining function can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To simplify procedures to set up and inspect a manufacturing device and bring about flexibility in the use of the device. CONSTITUTION: This manufacturing device for a vehicle tire carcass is equipped with a plurality of assembly drums 2 which move along a specified assembly route. Each of the drums 2 come across principal fabrication stations 10, 11, 12, 13 at several spots intended for applying common principal parts 4, 5, 6, 7 to the plurality of types of carcasses, each of which is included in a specified manufacturing range, in accordance with a previously set sequence. Auxiliary fabrication stations 14, 15 are intended for applying especially supplied accessory parts 8, 9 alternately with the principal fabrication stations 10, 11, 12, 13, and are structurally designed based on the specific types of carcasses. Further each of the auxiliary stations 14, 15 can be replaced by another different station according to a process to be executed after withdrawing from the assembly route. Each of the auxiliary stations can travel between a pause position which becomes gradually remote perpendicularly from the assembly route and a fabrication position arranged, in an operable manner, along the assembly route so that the individual accessory parts 8, 9 are applied.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a method for manufacturing a stronger tire which is achieved with a better connection adhesion between a bead core metal and an elastomeric material rubber covering the metal, as well as between the rubber forming the covering portion and the other rubber parts forming the tire bead. CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture of a tire, a covering structure 6 is pre- associated with each bead core, the covering structure 6 consists of a sheet 7 made of unvulcanized elastomeric material wrapped around the bead core, and a strip of unvulcanized rubberized fabric 8 reinforced with heat-shrinkable material cords, wound around the elastomeric material sheet 7. The bead cores 3 are subsequently assembled with other tire components, and a tire vulcanization step is carried out. During this step chemical bonding between the elastomeric sheet 7 and the bead core 3 is achieved, and the bonding is promoted by the simultaneous shrinkage of the cords provided in the rubberized fabric strip 8.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a tread capable of reducing the rolling noise of a tire without deteriorating its driving characteristic. CONSTITUTION: This tread has a plurality of wedges 5, 6 formed with two shoulder rows arranged with circumferential grooves 3 and transverse grooves 4 in the peripheral direction and some central rows 6 located between the shoulder rows. The wedges 5, 6 are provided with one or more linear auxiliary slits 12 inclined with respect to the direction perpendicular to rotating direction of a tire 2. The auxiliary slits 11, 12 of the wedges 5, 6 forming the shoulder rows 5 and the central rows 6 are made parallel to each other. The slips 12 of the central rows 6 have an inclination, with respect to the direction perpendicular to the rotating direction, that is greater than the inclination of the slips 11 of the wedges 5 of the shoulder rows 5. The rolling noise of the tire 2 is sufficiently reduced by the technical constitution employed for coincidentally arranging the auxiliary slits 11, 12.
