Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a composition for slowly releasing a fragrant molecule, including a complex of cucurbituril and a fragrant molecule. The composition is advantageous in that the fragrant molecule is more slowly released when it exists in the form of a complex compared to when it exists alone. Therefore, when a product including this complex is manufactured, the reduction of a fragrant material due to the long-term storage thereof can be minimized, and a fragrant material can be released for a long period of time compared to conventional products. Accordingly, it is presumed that this composition will be applied to air cleaning and environment improvement.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a composition for removing an odor molecule and releasing a fragrant molecule, the composition including a complex of cucurbituril and a fragrant molecule. The composition is characterized in that an odor molecule and a fragrant molecule are alternately bonded with cucurbituril, so the odor molecule is bonded with cucurbituril, and, simultaneously, the fragrant molecule is released from the complex. The composition provides very efficient air cleaning effects because it can exhibit both an odor removing effect and a fragrant molecule releasing effect using only cucurbituril which is a single-kind macrocyclic molecule.

Disclosed herein is a composition for removing odor, the composition including cucurbituril. The composition can capture and remove various kinds of odor materials (particularly, ammonium ion-containing bad odor, such as a fishy smell or the like) because cucurbituril can interact with various odor materials using its hydrophobic cavity and both inlets covered with carbonyl groups. Therefore, this composition can be practically applied to the cleaning of air and the improvement of an environment.
