Abstract:
A machine for forming structures from flexible products e.g. for making folded paper filters for IC engines, is an automatic machine having an operating cycle comprising a number of stages to form arrow-shaped teeth and folded forms. The machine comprises a first stage which forms longitudinal folds in the paper strip and also serves for advancing the strip intermittently (this stage pref. comprises pairs of ribbed and grooved rollers); a second stage for forming transverse fold lines (pref. two oscillating blades cooperating with fixed blades, all having a shape corresponding to the longitudinal folds); and a third stage which emphasises the final, toothed shape of the folded material, operating with converging differential movements; and a fourth stage for removing the finished structure.
