Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanical fuse and its use. The invention also relates to a method for receiving forces. The mechanical fuse (1) comprises fastening points (2, 3) with an intermediate part (4) between them. The intermediate part comprises at least one breaking section (5) and at least one absorbing section (7, 8). The breaking section is arranged to break, when a force (F) that is bigger than a predefined force is directed to the fuse, whereby the fuse trips. After the fuse has tripped, forces are received by the absorbing section.
