Abstract:
The invention relates to a broadcast data receiver of the type used to receive data from a remote location, process the same and generate audio, video and/or auxiliary data. The receivers typically include a UART internally which is required to be provided with external connection means. Conventionally an additional connection means is provided which adds to the expense of the receiver. The current invention allows connection with the UART via a SCART connection socket which is already required for other data transfers for the operation of the receiver and therefore overcomes the need for the additional connection means to be provided.
