Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of configuring quality of service from a network entity.SOLUTION: A network entity, such as a terminal, as well as a network can initialize an authorization to establish a link using quality-of-service information. For example, various features can be integrated by use of the quality-of-service information, such as having quality-of-service reservation before a call and supplying a permanent identity for use in correlation.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile station that is configured to facilitate coordination of supplementary services in a centralized fashion.SOLUTION: A mobile station may include: circuit-switched (CS) domain components that are configured to place voice telephone calls in a CS domain; and IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) components that are configured to place voice telephone calls in an IMS domain. The IMS components may include a transport component for facilitating communication with an IMS core network. The IMS components may also include a signaling component that is configured to exchange information with a centralized server on the IMS core network via the transport component. At least some of the information that is exchanged with the centralized server may be related to supplementary services for the voice telephone calls in the CS domain as well as the voice telephone calls in the IMS domain.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and apparatus for compression of headers in broadcasting BCMCS services in a wireless communication system.SOLUTION: Techniques used in BCMCS systems without feedback include sending static context information during BCMCS service initialization for use in a decompressor in a mobile station. Techniques used in BCMCS systems with feedback include receiving feedback from distributed mobile station decompressors and adjusting a broadcasting compressor in response to the feedback. Techniques that reduce the number of operating states in both the compressor and the decompressor are described. Techniques to classify flows so that a reduced number of contexts are used to compress/decompress session packet headers in a push-to-talk service are described.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for customizing and personalizing advertisement delivery in a broadcast system.SOLUTION: An access terminal comprises: a module to receive a presentation; a module to select an advertisement; and a module to insert the advertisement into the content of the presentation, and is configured to receive the presentation and select the advertisement to insert into the content of the presentation before the presentation is provided to the display for viewing by the user.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a header compression technique for broad casting BCMCS services in a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: Techniques used in BCMCS systems without any feedback include sending static context information during a BCMCS service initialization period for use in a decompressor in a mobile station. Techniques used in the BCMCS systems with the feedback include receiving feedbacks from the distributed mobile station decompressors and adjusting a broadcasting compressor in response to the feedback. The number of operating states in both the compressors and the decompressors is reduced. In a push-to-talk service, flows are classified so that a reduced number of contexts may be used to compress/decompress session packet headers. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
Bearer context maintained by an access terminal is synchronized with a network so that a change in the status of the bearer context may be reflected at the network. For example, if an access terminal determines that a resource previously requested by the access terminal is no longer needed, the access terminal may deactivate the bearer context locally in a case where the access terminal is unable to communicate with the network. In such a case, the access terminal may synchronize its bearer context with the network once the access terminal reestablishes communication with the network. For example, the access terminal may send a message to the network indicating that the access terminal has deactivated the bearer context.

Abstract:
In a multimedia communication session with multiple media components, one or more media components can be transferred from one access network to another access network and yet maintain the continuity of the overall communication session. Each session is first identified and thereafter the media component intended to be transferred is also identified. The identities of the identified session and component are sent to one or more entities within the communication network for executing the media component transfer.
