SOLUTION: In a mobile wireless communication system including a base station 30 of a first type operating over a first air interface, and a base station 32 of a second type operating over a second air interface, a method for reselection by a mobile station 40 installed on a cell associated with the first base station 30 of the first type, and the second base station 32 of the second type is provided. The method includes steps for receiving signals over a second air interface from the second base station 32 and evaluating characteristics of the signals. According to the characteristics, the second base station 32 is selected in place of the first base station 30, and the mobile station 40 is installed on a cell associated with the second base station 32.
