    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to transmitting and receiving improved wake-up signals (WUS) between a base station and a user equipment (UE). The UE can receive a configuration for discontinuous reception (DRX) or extended DRX (eDRX). The UE can also determine whether to monitor for a WUS during a DRX WUS time resource or an eDRX WUS time resource. In some aspects, the UE can determine whether to monitor for the WUS during the DRX WUS time resource or the eDRX WUS time resource based on a duration of a DRX time gap between DRX WUS resources and a paging occasion and an eDRX time gap between eDRX WUS resources and the paging occasion. The base station can configure the UE for DRX or eDRX. The base station can also determine whether to transmit a WUS during a DRX WUS time resource or an eDRX WUS time resource.

    Abstract: A method for early termination of an ongoing uplink transmission based on implicit HARQ-ACK is disclosed. A wireless device may receive a first grant for a first uplink transmission and may begin repetitions of the first uplink transmission. The wireless device may receive a second grant for a second uplink transmission during the ongoing first uplink transmission. The wireless device may determine if the second grant is an implicit HARQ-ACK and may perform an early detection of the HARQ-ACK. The wireless device may terminate early the first uplink transmission based on the detection of the HARQ-ACK. Allowing the wireless device to terminate the first uplink transmission through an implicit HARQ-ACK frees up channel resources and saves power. The wireless device may also start the second uplink transmission earlier than a schedule time based on the early detection of the HARQ-ACK, eliminating the waste of unused uplink resources and saving power.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for identifying a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) independently of a channel quality indicator (CQI) table that is configured at a user equipment (UE). A rate matching parameter may be determined based on one or more of the MCS or CQI table, which may be used for dimensioning a soft buffer that is used to store received transmissions for decoding. The MCS field may be a six-bit field and may indicate an MCS that exceeds a highest MCS associated with the CQI table. The base station may activate a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration at the UE through an activation command, and the UE may verify that SPS is activated based on information in a number of different fields of control information which may include the MCS field.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided that improves power savings and reliability of communication for DRX/eDRX modes. A base station may receive an indication from a network entity that a UE is in a DRX/eDRX mode. The base station may configure a WUS mode for the UE corresponding to the DRX mode or the eDRX mode. A UE may receive the WUS mode from the base station. When a UE is configured for relaxed RRM measurements for a first cell and moves to a second cell that supports a relaxed RRM measurement, the UE may return to a regular RRM measurement for a time period. When a UE configured for a WUS mode for a first cell moves to a second cell that supports the WUS mode, the UE may return to the DRX mode or the eDRX mode without the WUS mode for a period of time.
