Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methodologies that facilitate scheduling best effort flows in broadband or wideband wireless communication networks.SOLUTION: The wireless systems can include devices and/or component that effectuate: associating utility functions to multiple disparate flows on the basis of traffic conditions extant in the wireless system; ascertaining the average rate at which the flow has been serviced in the past; and utilizing the utility function associated with the flow or the average rate that the flow has been serviced in the past to optimally schedule the flow.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and means, which facilitate dynamically adjusting scheduling of priorities in relation to a combination of delay-sensitive flows having delay requirements and best effort flows.SOLUTION: The systems and means provide an optimal and efficient technique to enable real time adjustment and assignment of bandwidth for a combination of the best effort flows and the delay-sensitive flows. In particular, the bandwidth allocation is adjusted to each data packet so as to meet delay requirements and the remaining bandwidth can be assigned to the best effort flows.
