Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide multicasting within a wireless communications system.SOLUTION: Upon receiving a multicast session registration message and a traffic channel request from at least one access terminal, an access network transmits multicast messages on a downlink shared channel. In another example, the access network can determine a channel type for supporting a multicast session, can indicate the channel type selection to the at least one access terminal in an announce message, and can transmit the multicast messages on the selected channel type. The at least one access terminal receives the announce message, receives a traffic channel assignment, registers to the multicast session, and monitors the downlink shared channel for the multicast messages.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for improving the throughput during transmission of data packets within a plurality of time slots in a high data rate communication system.SOLUTION: A method for receiving a first packet from a source network node includes: generating a data rate control signal based on signal quality of a received signal transmitted by the source network node; sending the data rate control signal to the source network node; receiving a first signal having a data rate based on the data rate control signal from the source network node; measuring signal quality of the first signal to form a first signal quality metric; and sending a first feedback signal based on the first signal quality metric.

Un sistema receptor que determina un umbral del preambulo en curso y una metrica del preambulo en curso y determina si se detecta un preambulo. Si se detecta un preambulo, el receptor determina si un preambulo anterior ha sido detectado en un segmento de tiempo anterior que tienen un indice de entrelace de segmento de tiempo comun, y resuelve multiples detecciones de un preambulo basado en al menos, uno de los umbrales del preambulo en curso y un preambulo usados, las metricas del preambulo usado y en curso. El receptor descodifica datos despues que el preambulo es seleccionado y determina el CRC de los datos descodificados. Si una falla CRC es detectada, el receptor determina un nuevo umbral del preambulo en curso. El nuevo umbral del preambulo en curso es mas grande que el umbral del preambulo en curso. Si la metrica del preambulo en curso es mas grande que el nuevo umbral del preambulo en curso, el receptor determina la falla CRC como una falla CRC actual, de otro modo, como una falla CRC falsa.
