Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adapt a protocol which manages an infrastructure in response to management of aspect corresponding peer-to-peer communication between access terminals without extensive redesign or change the protocol.
SOLUTION: In a multiple-access network, network access terminals 106 can communicate with network infrastructure access nodes 104, or conduct peer-to-peer communications 110. The access terminals are adapted to adjust the transmit power level in response to power control commands received from the network and from at least one access terminal.
