Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a message sending method by which a wireless communication mode and a message service can be automatically selected. SOLUTION: A preferred communication mode is selected from a plurality of communication modes supported by a wireless device. A preferred message service is selected on the basis of contents of the message and the preferred communication mode. Then, the compatibility of the preferred message service with an active communication mode of the wireless device is determined. If the preferred message service is compatible with the active communication mode, the message is sent by using the preferred message service according to the active communication mode. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a computer-readable medium, for routing a message in a wireless device. SOLUTION: Routing messages in a wireless device includes receiving routing preferences from one or more applications operating with the wireless device. The method further includes receiving a message, and routing the message to the locations dedicated to the one or more applications. The locations may include one or a set of applications, or a memory unit associated with one or more applications. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for transparent broadcast services for a multi-mode wireless device. SOLUTION: In order to provide "transparent" broadcast services for a multi-mode wireless device capable of communicating with multiple wireless communication networks, a composite set of pertinent parameters for broadcast messages used by the multiple networks is defined. The parameters of the broadcast message for each network are mapped to corresponding parameters in the composite set. The composite set of parameters is used for processing and displaying broadcast messages received from the multiple networks. A broadcast message for each network is received and processed in accordance with the parameters of the message and filtering configurations applicable for the network. The parameters of the broadcast message are mapped to corresponding parameters in the composite set. The broadcast message is further processed and displayed based on the parameters in the composite set. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for conveying reports for SMS messages in a radio communication system. SOLUTION: Two new messages of an SMS delivery report message and an SMS submit report message are defined for CDMA SMS. These report messages may be used to more fully convey the information in the SMS-Deliver-Report TPDU and SMS-Submit-Report TPDU. A new Report-Req field is also provided in the reply option subparameter of the SMS Deliver Message and SNS Submit Message defined in CDMA SMS. This new field may be used to request a report for an SMS message to be sent by the message's recipient. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert short messages between different formats such that pertinent control information is retained without changing the fundamental structure of these message formats. SOLUTION: A new value is defined for the Msg Encoding field in the User Data subparameter of the CDMA SMS CDMA SMS message to indicate that the content of this message is an encapsulated GSM SMS message. The Message Type field in the User Data subparameter may be used to carry data coding scheme information for the encapsulated GSM SMS message. At a recipient mobile station, the value in the Msg Encoding field is checked to judge whether or not the CDMA SMS message includes an encapsulated GSM SMS message and then, the user data in the CHARi fields of the CDMA SMS message are processed based on the data coding scheme information from the Message Type field. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques for converting short messages between different formats (e.g., from GSM(R) SMS to CDMA SMS) without changing the fundamental structure of these message formats.SOLUTION: A new value is defined for the Msg_Encoding field in a User Data subparameter of a CDMA SMS message to indicate that the content of the CDMA SMS message is an encapsulated GSM SMS message. At a recipient mobile station, the value in the Msg_Encoding field is checked to determine whether or not the CDMA SMS message includes an encapsulated GSM SMS message. If it is determined so, then the user data in the CHARi fields of the CDMA SMS message is processed based on data coding scheme information from the Message_Type field.

Abstract:
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus and systems are presented for au-tomatically providing network operators with identification of open market wireless devices that are used in the operator s respective net-work. Present aspects accomplish such by retrieving device profile in-formation in response to the network operator s removable module be-ing associated with (i.e., inserted into) a wireless device and commu-nicating the device profile information to the network operator or the like. This allows for the network operator or third party entity to track and/or monitor the type of wireless devices existing in their respective wireless network. In addition, the automated nature of the tracking ob-viates the need for the subscribers/users of the removable modules to manually or otherwise provide the device identification to the network operators.
