Abstract: In some aspects, a method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, by the UE on a component carrier (CC), a downlink (DL) control information (DCI) that triggers transmission, by the UE on another CC, of an uplink (UL) reference signal (RS) for positioning. The method additionally includes transmitting, by the UE in response to the DCI, the UL RS for positioning on the other CC. In other aspects, a method of wireless communication by a base station includes transmitting, by the base station to a UE on a CC, a DCI that triggers transmission, by the UE on another CC, of an UL RS for positioning. The method additionally includes receiving, by the base station from the UE in response to the DCI, the UL RS for positioning on the other CC.
