Abstract: The invention relates to a process for time synchronization in a CDMA communication system, in particular to a method for the synchronization of a slave base station (64) to a reference base station (62) by messages transmitted and received by a mobile station (60). The latter is found in a zone of flexible automatic transfer between stations (62) and (64) or in a range which allows station (60) to communicate with station (64). By the process the delay of the two-way signal between stations (60) and (64) is measured by station (64). The latter then makes and estimates the length of the delay between transmission of a signal from the mobile station (60) to slave base station (64). Based on these measurements and estimates the time value is estimated in station (64), after which station (64) adjusts the time error, which is present in station (62).
