Abstract: A power management device useable in a mobile station includes a main processor configured to execute applications including signal processing ap-plications and further configured to enter a sleep mode in response to predetermined criteria. The device further includes a circuit configured to operate when the main processor is in the sleep mode comprising at least one of a low power processor and a sensor to monitor at least one of signals, commands, inputs, and changes in environment, the circuit waking up the main processor responsive to one of the low power processor and the sensor. The device may operate a method and may exe-cute instructions based on a machine readable medium.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for combining pressure information from pressure sensors, motion information from dead reckoning or other motion sensors, such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and geomagnetic sensors, and temperature information from temperature sensors, to separate a change in altitude from a change in environmental pressure or temperature. A change in measured pressure without any motion or change in temperature must be a weather-related barometric pressure change. If there is an associated temperature change, but no motion, and the rate of change is too fast for a normal weather change, the measured change represents a change in sensitivity of the pressure sensor with temperature, and the sensor calibration can be adjusted. A rapid change in pressure, associated with horizontal motion, but no measurable vertical motion represents a movement into a different pressure environment. Only changes in pressure that are associated with measurable vertical motion are true changes in altitude.

Abstract: Un procedimiento, que comprende: detectar el movimiento (420) de un dispositivo (300) en respuesta a la recepción de una señal desde un acelerómetro (340) dispuesto en dicho dispositivo (300); caracterizado por que el procedimiento comprende además: cambiar un estado de energía del acelerómetro (340) en respuesta a la recepción de la señal desde el acelerómetro (340); cambiar un estado de energía (430) de un giroscopio (330), también dispuesto en dicho dispositivo (300), desde un modo de suspensión a un modo operativo normal para realizar una actividad de medición en respuesta a dicha detección de dicho movimiento del dispositivo, siendo diferente el modo de suspensión del modo operativo normal, en el que dicho cambio del estado de energía del acelerómetro (340) comprende cambiar el estado de energía del acelerómetro (340) desde un modo de baja energía a un modo operativo normal en respuesta a la detección de dicho movimiento del dispositivo para realizar la actividad de medición junto con el giroscopio, consumiendo el modo de baja energía más energía que en un modo de suspensión para posibilitar una funcionalidad limitada del acelerómetro (340); y cambiar el estado de energía del giroscopio de nuevo al modo de suspensión, y el estado de energía del acelerómetro de nuevo al modo de baja energía, tras finalizar la actividad de medición.
