Abstract: Un procedimiento de comunicaciones inalámbricas entre un primer dispositivo (10) y un segundo dispositivo (12) que comprende: transmitir una trama desde el primer dispositivo hasta el segundo dispositivo; recibir un mensaje de reconocimiento negativo, también denominado NAK, del segundo dispositivo, en el que el NAK identifica la trama transmitida; y retransmitir varias copias de la trama en dos etapas en respuesta a la recepción del NAK, comprendiendo la retransmisión: transmitir una primera copia de la trama inmediatamente tras la recepción del NAK; y caracterizado por transmitir al menos una segunda copia de la trama cuando ya no quedan tramas normales ulteriores aguardando transmisión; siendo las tramas normales tramas que no han sido transmitidas aún.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for efficient data retransmission in a voice-over-data communication system between a first wireless communication device and a second wireless communication device, without affecting existing infrastructure. When a data frame containing audio information is received in error by the first wireless communication device, n negative-acknowledgement messages are sent from the first wireless communication device to the second wireless communication device which sent the frame, the n negative acknowledgement messages transmitted interleaved with normal data frames. When a negative-acknowledgement message is received by the first wireless communication device from the second wireless communication device, n copies of the frame identified by the negative-acknowledgement message is transmitted by the first wireless communication device, the copies transmitted interleaved with normal data frames.
